Radio, Sound & Society is the scientific journal of the ECREA Radio Research section and is edited by Madalena Oliveira, Tiziano Bonini and Grazyna Stachyra.
It is an online semiannual publication (two issues per year), aimed to publish the outstanding work and research of scholars dedicated to radio studies. Focused on the role of audio media and sound language in everyday life and contemporary society, this journal is meant to encourage interdisciplinary approaches which may interconnect contributions from Sociology, Semiotics, History, Political Economy, Journalism or Technology. Among the contributions to the first issue, we find two articles in community radio in Europe:
Community radios in the Portuguese-speaking space: mapping the differences of a community empowerment
Linguistic diversity and communication rights: the role of community media in the promotion of regional or minority languages in Europe
Isabel Lema Blanco, Miriam Meda González
