1st Conference and General Assembly

The 1st Community Media Forum Europe (CMFE) will take place in the United Nations Buffer Zone in Nicosia, Cyprus, on 17/19 November 2011, bringing together over 90 delegates from Europe, Africa, Asia and North America.

The plenary sessions will focus on the following themes:
– The state of Community Media in Europe
– Community media, intercultural dialogue and participation
– Community Media and the Arab Spring
– Towards an enabling environment for Community Media in Cyprus
– Opportunities and challenges for Community Media in Europe: the way ahead

The parallel sessions will
– Showcase best practices of CMFE members, both in traditional presentation formats and practice-based workshops;
– Discuss European Community Media research, policies and practices.

In this occasion CMFE will be convening its 2011 ordinary General Assembly on 17 November 2011 at 10.00am at the Home for Cooperation Conference Room, Home for Cooperation, located at the Ledra Palace Grounds in the UN Buffer Zone of Nicosia, Cyprus.
